This lo-fi, highly energetic debut release was absolutely pivotal in establishing the internationally revered 'Dunedin Sound' and the legendary Flying Nun record label. The five tracks perfectly balance raw, driving post-punk rhythms with remarkably bright, 1960s-indebted pop melodies and organ flourishes. It became an unexpected massive chart success in New Zealand, sparking an entire national wave of independent alternative music.
