Album Notes & Community Reviews
Marking the incredibly prolific Manchester band's debut vinyl release, this abrasive 7-inch firmly establishes Mark E. Smith's chaotic, literary vision. The ragged, intentionally repetitive guitar chords violently clash with his sneering, heavily accented vocal delivery, setting an essential blueprint for the entire post-punk underground. The three tracks beautifully capture the intelligent, working-class cynicism that would define their immense discography.
