Album Notes & Community Reviews

Standing in stark defiance of the era's heavy psychedelia and rock radicalism, this collection celebrates quaint English nostalgia and pastoral traditions. The intricate, Mellotron-laced arrangements and Ray Davies' wistful, character-driven songwriting established it as a quiet, enduring masterpiece of baroque pop.
