Metamorphosis EP

Album Notes & Community Reviews

True to its title, this release marks one of the most drastic, unexpected stylistic shifts in the history of extreme music. The Norwegian pioneers entirely abandoned their revered folk and black metal origins, plunging headfirst into sleek, urban drum and bass, trip-hop, and ambient IDM. It completely alienated their traditional fanbase while simultaneously establishing them as fearless electronic innovators.
