Anison

Anison, from "anime song", is the Japanese music industry's category for songs written for anime: opening and ending themes, insert songs and character songs, together with the song-driven scores that surround them. It is a commercial genre with its own labels, charts and festivals — *Animelo Summer Live* is the world's largest anime-song concert — and its own star system, from veteran theme singers such as *Hironobu Kageyama* and *Nana Mizuki* to *LiSA*, whose themes for *Fate/Zero*, *Sword Art Online* and *Demon Slayer* made her the defining anison voice of the 2010s.
