ASMR

ASMR

ASMR, named for the autonomous sensory meridian response, is an audio practice built around intimate, close-microphone performance: whispering and soft speech, tapping, scratching, crinkling, brushing and personal-attention role play, usually recorded binaurally so the listener hears the performer moving around their ears. Pioneered on video platforms by *GentleWhispering* and *Heather Feather*, it is made to induce the tingling, deeply relaxing sensation its audience calls tingles, and functions less as conventional composition than as a designed sensory environment for sleep, study and anxiety relief.
