Baganda Music

Baganda Music is the music of the Baganda people of Uganda's central region, heard here chiefly in its contemporary form: the fusion of Baganda traditional practice with electronic production around Kampala. Traditional elements include the kadongo kamu style of solo guitar storytelling, royal court repertories of xylophone (amadinda), flutes and drums, and the drumming of ensembles such as the *Nilotika Cultural Ensemble*. From the 2010s, the Nyege Nyege scene joined these drums and instruments to house, techno and experimental electronics, in the work of *Nihiloxica*, *Faizal Mostrixx* and *Don Zilla*, released through #Hakuna Kulala# and #Glitterbeat Records#.
