Bubblegum Bass

Bubblegum Bass

Bubblegum Bass emerged in the early 2010s, primarily through the output of the #PC Music# collective, founded by *A. G. Cook*. The genre merges a conceptual art framework with an extreme exaggeration of mainstream pop tropes. Its sonic palette is defined by high-pitched, manipulated vocals, glossy and elastic synthesizer arpeggios, and percussive elements drawn from happy hardcore and trance. This hyper-real production style creates a sound that is simultaneously saccharine and abrasive, deconstructing the nature of commercial appeal. The genre's influence expanded as its architects, like *SOPHIE* and *Danny L Harle*, began producing for mainstream acts, embedding its uncanny, futuristic aesthetic into the wider musical landscape.
