Chill House

Chill house is the relaxed wing of commercial house music: deep-house harmony and four-to-the-floor pulse slowed toward 120 BPM and softened with acoustic instruments, muted brass, warm pads and unhurried pop vocals. It crystallised in the mid-2010s streaming era alongside tropical house, with which it overlaps, but trades tropical steel-drum colour for a smoother, jazz-touched palette. Acts such as *Bakermat*, *Lost Frequencies*, *Sam Feldt* and *Matoma* carried it from European beach clubs to global playlists, where 'chill' became a durable category of daytime dance music.
