Dariacore

Dariacore, also called hyperflip, is an internet microgenre of sample-based dance music created in 2021 by *Jane Remover* under the alias *leroy*. Its tracks are frantic mashups: sped-up and pitch-shifted samples of pop hits, cartoon dialogue and memes are chopped over breakbeats, Jersey club kicks, complextro and dubstep drops at tempos far beyond their sources. The name and artwork were taken from the animated series *Daria*, establishing a house style of media-themed series by followers such as *xaev*, whose releases are themed on the game *Deltarune*. The style spread through SoundCloud and later developed a notable following in Japan.
