Easycore

Easycore is a fusion of pop-punk and metalcore that pairs major-key melodies, bright gang choruses and playful, self-deprecating humour with down-tuned riffs, double-kick drumming and hardcore breakdowns. Singers alternate clean, high-pitched leads with screamed passages, and synthesizers frequently thicken choruses inherited from 2000s pop-punk. The style crystallised in the United States during the late 2000s around *Four Year Strong*, *Set Your Goals* and *A Day to Remember*, taking its name from the 2008 Easycore Tour. Its defining tension is between radio-ready uplift and mosh-pit weight, delivered in compact, hook-dense songs.
