Electro Hop

Electro Hop

Electro hop is a fusion of hip hop and electronic dance music that became a dominant commercial sound in the late 2000s. Rap verses and sung hooks are placed over four-on-the-floor beats drawn from electro house, electropop and Dutch house, with heavily processed vocals, metallic synthesizers and build-and-drop structures borrowed from club music. Where earlier hip house kept one foot in the underground, electro hop was engineered for pop radio and festival main stages alike, and acts such as *The Black Eyed Peas* and *LMFAO* carried its formula to the top of the charts worldwide.
