Electronicore

Electronicore, also called synthcore or trancecore, is a fusion of metalcore and post-hardcore with electronic dance music that emerged in the 2000s in Britain, North America and Japan. Bands combine breakdowns, screamed vocals and auto-tuned singing with synthesizers, sequencers and programmed beats drawn from trance, dubstep, electro and chiptune, often alternating rave-like passages with metalcore assault within a single song. *Enter Shikari* pioneered the form from 2003, *Attack Attack!* and *I See Stars* established its American variant, and Japanese acts such as *Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas* and *Crossfaith* carried the hybrid toward maximal electronic density.
