Epic Music

Epic music is the style of large-scale orchestral production music developed for film trailers in the 2000s, built from full orchestra, massed choir, heavy percussion and hybrid electronic reinforcement, and structured to rise from quiet introduction to an overwhelming climax within two to three minutes. It originated inside trailer-music libraries such as *Immediate Music*, *X-Ray Dog* and *Two Steps from Hell*, whose cues for major film campaigns created public demand that turned an industry resource into a commercial genre with its own albums, concerts and online audience.
