Ewe Music

Ewe music is the traditional music of the Ewe people of Ghana, Togo and Benin, centered on master-drummer-led percussion ensembles in which interlocking bell, rattle and drum patterns accompany dance, funerals and vodun ritual. Its polyrhythms, documented on "Ewe Music of Ghana", became foundational to the study of African rhythm.
