Fidget House

Fidget house is a British-led house style of the mid-to-late 2000s, defined by snatched vocal snippets, pitch-bent dirty basslines and rave-style synth stabs over glitchy 4/4 beats. The name began as a joke by producers *Jesse Rose* and *Switch*, but stuck to a real sound assembled from Chicago house, electro house, Baltimore club, kuduro and hip hop. Its leading figures, *Switch*, *Herv茅*, *Sinden*, *Crookers* and *Fake Blood*, favoured short, violent tracks and remixes over albums, and fidget's bass science fed directly into Dutch house, bassline and the EDM era's electro house.
