Flamenco Pop

Flamenco Pop

Flamenco pop is the commercial fusion of flamenco with pop songwriting that reshaped Spanish popular music from the late 1980s. Groups such as *Ketama*, *Pata Negra* and *Kiko Veneno* married palmas, caj贸n and flamenco guitar to verses and choruses built for radio, while singers like *Ni帽a Pastori* and *Rosario Flores* brought cante phrasing into mainstream ballads and dance tracks. The style ranges from the nuevo flamenco of *Ojos de Brujo* and *Chambao*, who added electronics and hip hop, to the rumba-pop of *Los del R铆o*, whose "Macarena" became a global hit.
