Flamenco Urban

Flamenco urban is the Spanish movement that fuses flamenco singing, guitar and palmas with trap, reggaeton, hip-hop and electronic production. Led by *Rosalía*, *C. Tangana*, *Dellafuente* and *María José Llergo*, it treats the cante tradition of Andalusia as living pop material rather than folklore, pairing bulería rhythms and melismatic vocals with 808s and Auto-Tune, and it has carried acts from Granada, Málaga and Barcelona to the top of the Spanish charts. Its singers move between neighbourhood flamenco peñas and festival main stages without changing their material or their accents.
