Frenchcore

Frenchcore is a high-speed branch of hardcore techno that emerged from the French free-party and rave scene of the mid-1990s, built around distorted kick drums at roughly 185-205 BPM, offbeat basslines, and dense industrial sampling. *Micropoint*, the duo of *Radium* and *Al Core*, codified the sound on "Neurophonie", issued through the #Psychik Genocide# label, and the style remained a European underground fixture before a melodic, euphoric variant led by *Dr. Peacock* and *Sefa* carried it to main stages at #Defqon.1# and #Thunderdome# in the 2010s.
