Goregrind

Goregrind diverges from grindcore and death metal by exaggerating their most extreme sonic and thematic elements. Originating with the pathological obsessions of early *Carcass*, the style is defined by its use of pitch-shifters to create inhumanly low, gurgling vocals, often complemented by high-pitched shrieks. Instrumentation centers on downtuned, murky guitar riffs, frenetic blast beats, and lurching, groove-oriented rhythms, all captured with an intentionally raw and chaotic production quality. The genre's ethos is rooted in a fascination with forensic pathology, medical deviancy, and graphic horror, creating a confrontational and sonically abrasive form that remains a cornerstone of the extreme music underground.
