Hardcore Melódico

Hardcore Melódico

Hardcore melódico is the name used across the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking world for its own melodic hardcore tradition: the speed, gang choruses and double-time drumming of Californian melodic hardcore, sung in Portuguese and Spanish and rooted in local DIY scenes. It was built in the 1990s above all in Brazil, where *Dead Fish*, *Garage Fuzz* and *Street Bulldogs* translated the *Epitaph* and *Fat Wreck Chords* model into a national circuit of independent labels and all-ages shows, with parallel scenes in Argentina (*Shaila*, *Eterna Inocencia*) and Chile (*BBS Paranoicos*).
