Hi-Tech Psytrance

Hi-tech is the fastest branch of psychedelic trance: tracks at roughly 170 to 220 BPM built from machine-gun rolling basslines, hyper-edited synthesizer fragments, glitched vocal shards and abrupt stop-start breaks, with none of psytrance's usual melodic atmosphere. It emerged in the mid-to-late 2000s where full-on and darkpsy met hardtek, led by Russian and European producers; its defining album artist is *Psykovsky*, whose "Da Budet" (2010) set the style's benchmark of complexity. Released by specialist labels such as #Noise Poison# and #Kamino Records#, it remains an underground festival music of extreme tempo.
