Indie Dance

Indie dance is the crossover current of the 2000s in which indie rock bands rebuilt their music on dance music's foundations: four-to-the-floor and disco rhythms, synthesizers and sequenced basslines under guitars and group vocals. Centered on acts such as *LCD Soundsystem*, *Hot Chip*, *Cut Copy* and *The Rapture*, it dissolved the boundary between rock venue and club, and its polished, melodic later form, heard in *Friendly Fires*, *MGMT* and *Two Door Cinema Club*, became a default sound of 2010s pop.
