Industrial Hardcore

Industrial Hardcore

Industrial hardcore is a form of hardcore techno that fuses gabber's distorted kick drums and high tempos with the machine noise, samples and bleak aesthetics of industrial music. It developed in the 1990s around New York's #Industrial Strength Records# and the Dutch hardcore scene, as producers such as *Ophidian* and *The Outside Agency* slowed the tempo, thickened the distortion and admitted breakbeats and dark ambient textures. The result is a deliberately abrasive music, positioned between the dancefloor and experimental electronics, that became a seedbed for crossbreed and related fusions.
