Jersey Club

Jersey Club

Jersey club is a dance music style from Newark, New Jersey, developed in the 2000s by the Brick Bandits crew as a faster, more aggressive descendant of Baltimore club. Tracks are built at roughly 130 to 140 BPM from chopped breakbeats, most characteristically the 'Think' break, heavy kick patterns in triplet groupings, bed-squeak samples, and short vocal chants cut into rhythmic fragments. Production is deliberately raw and functional, made for dance crews and local parties. In the 2010s the style circulated nationally through internet producers, and in the 2020s it fused with New York drill to reach the pop charts.
