Jibaro

Jibaro

J铆baro music (m煤sica j铆bara) is the country music of Puerto Rico's mountain interior: improvised and composed song in d茅cima stanzas sung over the cuatro, guitar and g眉iro, in the two great families of seis and aguinaldo. The trovador composes ten-line verses on the spot, often in competitive duels, on love, migration, faith and island politics. Commercial recording made its masters famous across the Puerto Rican diaspora: *Ramito*, 'el Cantor de la Monta帽a', who recorded more than 150 LPs for #Ansonia#, *Chu铆to el de Bayam贸n* and the 'Jibarito de Lares', *Odilio Gonz谩lez*.
