Joropo
Joropo is the traditional music and dance of Los Llanos, the plains of Venezuela and Colombia, built on the llanera harp, cuatro and maracas in fast sesqui谩ltera rhythm. Sung golpes and improvised contrapunteo verses celebrate cattle culture and llanero pride; *Sim贸n D铆az* and *Cimarr贸n* are its defining voices, on records such as "S铆, Soy Llanero".
