Jungle Terror

Jungle terror is a style of festival electronic music created by the Dutch producer *Wiwek* in the early 2010s, fusing big room house and trap with dense tribal percussion and samples of animal calls and jungle ambience. Tracks run on offbeat kicks, dissonant lead synths and drops built from layered drums drawn from Indian, African and Latin sources. Named half in jest when *Wiwek* needed a genre tag for his uploads, the sound was codified by his "Jungle Terror" EP series on *Yellow Claw*'s #Barong Family# label and taken up by producers including *GTA* and *Cesqeaux*.
