K枚nsrock

K枚nsrock

K枚nsrock, roughly 'genital rock', is a Swedish form of punk rock defined by deliberately offensive humour, its songs treating disability, disease, sexuality, bodily functions, Nazism, drugs and violence in the crudest possible terms. The music itself ranges from basic three-chord punk to post-punk-influenced arrangements with drum machines and keyboards, and from sloppy amateurism to deliberately unpleasant noise. Coined by journalists rather than the artists, the term covers a schoolyard and cassette underground that flourished from the late 1970s, periodically provoking parliamentary questions and media outrage while remaining a durable Swedish cult phenomenon.
