Latin Drill

Latin drill is the Spanish-language branch of drill, transplanting the sliding 808s, skittering hi-hats and staccato flows of the Chicago and UK styles to the barrios of Barcelona and Madrid and the urban scene of Chile. Its defining acts, *Morad* and *Beny Jr* from L'Hospitalet, rap in Spanish laced with Moroccan Darija and French slang, and turned a YouTube and streaming underground into repeated Spanish chart-toppers in the early 2020s. The style's videos, shot on the estates themselves, function as both promotion and territorial document.
