Livetronica

Livetronica is the hybrid of live jam-band performance and electronic dance production: bands such as *Sound Tribe Sector 9*, *The Disco Biscuits*, *Lotus*, and *EOTO* play house, drum and bass, and dub grooves with real instruments, extended improvisation, and laptops or sequencers woven into the stage setup. Born where the jam scene met rave culture in the late 1990s, the style prizes long, dance-driven sets in which composed themes open into improvised electronic exploration. Its concerts treat the dancefloor and the listening crowd as one audience, merging festival rock practice with club music's continuous flow.
