Makina
M谩kina is a Spanish subgenre of hardcore techno that emerged in Valencia in the early 1990s from the bakalao club scene of the Valencian Community and Catalonia. Played at 150 to 180 BPM, it combines the bounce of Scottish bouncy techno and happy hardcore with hard trance riffs, Eurodance melodies and pitched-up vocals, built for long nights in Valencian and Catalan superclubs such as Pont Aeri, Chasis and Spook. Producer-DJs including *Pastis & Buenri*, *DJ Skudero* and *Xavi Metralla* defined the sound, which later found a second home in northeast England.
