Melodic House

Melodic house is a form of house music in which extended, harmonically rich melody takes precedence over groove or drop impact. Developed in the 2010s around labels such as #Anjunadeep# and #This Never Happened#, it combines the four-to-the-floor pulse of deep and progressive house with long, evolving synth lines, piano figures and atmospheric pads, often at restrained tempos near 120 BPM. Producers such as *Ben Böhmer*, *Lane 8* and *Tinlicker* shaped a sound designed as much for listening as for clubs, favouring gradual emotional build over peak-time intensity.
