Mincecore

Mincecore is the deliberately primitive branch of grindcore named and defined by the Belgian band *Agathocles* in the late 1980s. Rejecting the technicality and metal virtuosity creeping into grindcore, mincecore insists on raw, simplistic playing built from punk structures: very short songs, basic riffs, blast beats and shouted or growled vocals recorded with minimal polish. Its words are openly political, addressing fascism, animal liberation, war and social control in the anarchist tradition. Kindred bands include Brazil's *Rot*, Japan's *Unholy Grave*, Canada's *Archagathus* and the Czech *Malignant Tumour*.
