Moombahton

Moombahton is the fusion of Dutch house and reggaeton created in Washington, DC in 2009, when *Dave Nada* slowed *Afrojack*'s remix of *Silvio Ecomo* and *Chuckie*'s "Moombah" to 108 BPM for a school party and heard it lock into the reggaeton dembow groove. The name joins "Moombah" to reggaeton. Its sound — Dutch-house leads and build-ups over the dembow's three-plus-two pattern, pitched vocal chops and sirens — was codified by *Munchi*, *Dillon Francis* and the *Mad Decent* circle, with a harder offshoot, moombahcore, at faster tempos.
