Neon Pop Punk

Neon pop punk is a style of pop punk that flourished in the late 2000s, distinguished by its heavy use of synthesizers, electronic production and dance-pop gloss. Where earlier pop punk relied on guitars alone, neon acts layered bright keyboards, programmed beats and polished sheen over fast punk-derived chord progressions, pairing the result with Day-Glo imagery and party-oriented lyrics. Centred on the American Warped Tour and mall-emo circuit and labels such as #Decaydance# and #Fueled by Ramen#, the style produced genuine chart hits around 2008–2009 before mainstream pop absorbed its methods and its audience moved on.
