Noise Pop

Emerging from the post-punk and protopunk scenes of the late 1970s and early 1980s, Noise Pop is a rock subgenre that juxtaposes conventional pop songwriting with abrasive sonic textures. It is characterized by the integration of dissonant guitar feedback, heavy distortion, and layers of feedback, which envelop melodic vocal lines and traditional song structures.
