Noisegrind

Noisegrind

Noisegrind is an extreme offshoot of grindcore in which the emphasis shifts from riffs and songs to pure noise and abrasion. Tracks are typically very short, built from blast beats, heavily distorted or pitch-shifted guitars and bass, feedback and indecipherable shrieked or guttural vocals, often recorded with deliberately primitive fidelity. Emerging in the late 1980s with *Fear of God*, *Sore Throat* and the earliest *Anal Cunt*, noisegrind treats grindcore's brevity and violence as an end in itself, and it borders on harsh noise as much as on metal or punk.
