Nu-Deathcore

Nu-Deathcore

Nu-deathcore is deathcore inflected by nu metal: bouncing, groove-first breakdowns, turntable and electronic accents, rap-influenced vocal cadences and the swagger of the late-1990s genre it cites. The term attached first to 2000s acts such as *Suicide Silence* and especially *Emmure*, whose downtuned, rhythm-led writing traded death metal complexity for nu-metal physicality, and it has been revived for a 2020s wave — *Dealer*, *Paleface Swiss*, *Darko US* — that pairs the bounce with modern production. Against technical and symphonic deathcore, nu-deathcore is defined by economy: fewer notes, placed for maximum impact, with hip hop's rhythmic confidence inside extreme metal.
