Nu Metalcore

Nu metalcore (or nu-core) is a fusion of metalcore with nu metal, emerging in the mid-2010s, in which downtuned riffs and breakdowns meet hip hop beats, turntable scratching, samples and rapped or spoken verses. Bands such as *Emmure*, *King 810* and *Sworn In* led its first wave, openly reviving the sound of Korn, Slipknot and Limp Bizkit within hardcore structures. A second wave — Australia's *Alpha Wolf* and *Ocean Grove*, Britain's *Graphic Nature*, the American *Darko US* — added drum and bass, industrial electronics and internet-era production.
