Peak Time Techno

Peak Time Techno

Peak time techno, formalised as Beatport's 'Techno (Peak Time / Driving)' category, is the big-room strain of contemporary techno built for the headline hours of festivals and arena clubs: fast, driving four-to-the-floor tracks at roughly 130 BPM, with heavy kick drums, rave-referencing hoovers and stabs, and long tension-and-release breakdowns. Codified in the 2010s by *Adam Beyer*'s #Drumcode# label and its annual "A-Sides" compilations, it is performed by *Charlotte de Witte*, *Amelie Lens*, *Enrico Sangiuliano* and *ANNA*, and marked techno's return to mass-audience spectacle after the minimal era.
