Philly Club

Philly Club

Philly club is Philadelphia's branch of East Coast club music, developed in the early 2000s by producers such as *DJ Sega*, *DJ DWizz* and *DJ RL* under the influence of Baltimore club. It runs faster than its parent — often 140–150 BPM — on the breakbeat-derived 'think' pattern, chopped and looped vocal fragments, siren synths and hardstyle- and trap-derived sounds. Made by teenage bedroom producers for local party circuits and radio mix shows, it stayed a fiercely local 'party music' scene even as Baltimore and Jersey club won wider fame.
