Rhythmic Noise

Rhythmic Noise

Rhythmic noise, also called power noise, is a form of post-industrial music that fuses noise with electronic dance music: heavily distorted drum machines, saturated synthesizer tones and sampled industrial percussion are organised into rigid, club-oriented beats. Emerging in mid-1990s Europe around the labels #Ant-Zen# and #Hands Productions#, it draws on early industrial acts such as *Esplendor Geom茅trico* while borrowing its pulse from techno, gabber and EBM. Tracks are usually instrumental, built from loops of abrasive rhythm and noise rather than melody, and are performed loud in clubs and at specialist festivals such as Maschinenfest.
