Rominimal

Rominimal is the Romanian school of minimal house and techno that emerged from Bucharest in the late 2000s, characterised by long, groove-led tracks built from sparse percussion, swinging basslines and minute, evolving detail. Centred on the label #a:rpia:r#, founded in 2007 by *Rhadoo*, *Petre Inspirescu* and *Raresh*, and on Bucharest's after-hours club culture, it applies the microhouse lessons of *Ricardo Villalobos* with a distinctive patience and swing. Its DJs favour marathon sets and unreleased material, and its records — pressed in small runs — became some of the most sought-after in underground dance music.
