Swancore

Swancore is a progressive strain of post-hardcore named for *Will Swan*, guitarist of *Dance Gavin Dance* and founder of #Blue Swan Records#. It combines math rock's tapping, odd meters and intricate guitar interplay with post-hardcore's alternation of clean, high-register singing and screamed vocals, plus strong admixtures of funk, R&B and progressive rock. The result is technical but melodic music that changes tempo and mood abruptly while retaining pop hooks. The style consolidated in the 2010s around the Sacramento scene and Swan's label roster, including *Hail the Sun*, *Eidola* and *Royal Coda*.
