Technical Punk

Technical punk is a style of punk and hardcore that prizes instrumental virtuosity: odd meters, abrupt tempo changes, dissonant riffing and stop-start structures replace the genre's customary simplicity. It covers the mathcore of *The Dillinger Escape Plan* and *Botch* and the shredding melodic hardcore of *Propagandhi*, uniting both under a demand for precision at speed.
