Lyrical content frequently documents the granular realities and psychological pressures of street economics. Pioneered by artists like *T.I.*, *Gucci Mane*, and *Jeezy*, the form was later amplified by producer *Lex Luger* and evolved from a regional sound into a globally dominant force in popular music.
