Tropical House

Tropical House

Tropical house is a melodic, pop-oriented branch of house music that emerged in the early 2010s, slowing deep house tempos toward 100-120 BPM and dressing them in marimba, steel drum, pan flute, saxophone and fingerpicked guitar timbres. Australian producer *Thomas Jack* popularised the name, and Norway's *Kygo* carried the style to global pop with piano-led remixes and originals built around guest vocalists. With peers such as *Matoma*, *Lost Frequencies*, *Sam Feldt* and *Sigala*, tropical house became the festival era's daytime sound: euphoric but relaxed, engineered as much for streaming playlists as for clubs.
