Weightless

Weightless is a strand of UK electronic music named around 2013 for productions that strip grime and dubstep down to space, silence and sub-bass. Producers around London's Boxed night and labels such as #Keysound Recordings#, #Planet Mu# and #PAN#, among them *Logos*, *Mumdance*, *Mr. Mitch*, *Slackk*, *Visionist* and *Rabit*, replaced grime's crowded eski synths and MC energy with sparse clicks, drifting melodies, ambient wash and abrupt negative space. The result functions as grime's contemplative counter-image: club-rooted music designed as much for headphones as for the dancefloor.
