Xtra Raw

Xtra raw is the extreme wing of raw hardstyle, formed in the mid-2010s around the labels #Gearbox Digital#, #Spoontech# and #Theracords#. It pushes rawstyle's distorted kicks toward hardcore with zaag and laser kicks, rolling kick patterns, industrial atmospheres, screeched leads and screamed vocals, and it is driven by acts such as *Rebelion*, *Rooler*, *Malice* and *Sickmode*. Where rawphoric softened rawstyle, xtra raw exists to make it heavier. It is the sound of the rawstyle underground proper, heard at events such as Supremacy and on the hardest festival stages.
